threatening to impose 100% tariffs on BRICS nations if they support an alternative currency to the dollar.

Trump called on BRICS nations—comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa,
and others such as Iran, Egypt, and the UAE—to refrain from creating a unified currency or supporting any alternative to the dollar.
He warned that such efforts would result in these countries being denied access to the U.S. economy.
His comments followed the recent BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia, where members discussed increasing the use of local currencies.
At the summit’s conclusion, Russia emphasized strengthening correspondent banking networks within the group.
However, progress toward launching an alternative to the SWIFT system was reportedly limited, according to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Trump firmly stated that he would not allow the dollar to be replaced as the primary currency for international trade, vowing to adopt protectionist policies against any attempts to undermine the standing of the U.S. economy.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Friday that his government expects the national income to reach $1.331 trillion by the end of 2024, with per capita income rising to $15,551 by the end of this year, according to Anadolu Agency.
Speaking at an economic event in Istanbul, Erdogan highlighted that Turkey’s economy has been growing for 17 consecutive quarters.
He affirmed that the budget deficit would be reduced to 3.1% of GDP by the end of 2025, supported by financial policies aimed at curbing inflation.
Erdogan also emphasized improving citizens’ living standards as a top priority, stating, “We will not compromise on the people’s welfare.”
Separately, he described migration as one of the world’s most pressing challenges, stressing that Turkey will continue securing its borders with additional measures.
