OPEC+, the coalition of the world’s major oil-producing countries, announced an adjustment in oil production by 547,000 barrels per day for September 2025, compared to the required production level in August.
This move comes as part of the group’s ongoing efforts to support global oil market stability.

The adjustment involves eight key member countries: Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria, and Oman.
In an official statement, the group noted that this increase equals four consecutive monthly increments,
demonstrating the alliance’s flexibility in addressing current and anticipated developments in the oil market.

According to the statement, OPEC+ retains the option to pause or reverse this adjustment if market conditions warrant,
providing the group with a wide margin for maneuvering and adapting its production policy in line with member interests and global demand shifts.
This move underscores the group’s proactive commitment to preserving market balance amid stable global economic forecasts.

Ongoing Monitoring Mechanism and Commitment to Balance

The participating countries emphasized the importance of full compliance with the Declaration of Cooperation,
including additional voluntary adjustments monitored by the Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee (JMMC).
The eight nations also reaffirmed their commitment to compensate for any excess production
since the beginning of 2024 and to resolve those differences in the coming period.

The member states are expected to continue holding monthly meetings to review market conditions and levels of compliance,
with the next meeting scheduled for September 7, 2025, to assess the latest developments.

This move is expected to strengthen global market confidence in the alliance,
especially amid the volatility in energy markets caused by geopolitical tensions and fluctuating demand.
The gradual production increase may also help meet rising energy needs in several markets—particularly as winter approaches
and consumption increases in key energy-importing nations.
