France’s industrial production posts strongest growth since 2020, fueled by a rebound in the transport sector
Recent official data showed that France’s industrial production surged sharply in June 2025, recording its fastest pace of growth since July 2020, after the sector contracted by 0.5% in May.

According to the released figures, French industrial output rose more than expected, with growth reaching 1.1%, surpassing market forecasts of just 0.8%. This strong performance was mainly driven by a substantial increase in transport equipment production, which soared by 16.6% compared to a modest 0.3% growth in May.

Notably, the most striking growth was in the category of “other transport equipment,” which includes aerospace, marine, and railway industries, where output jumped by 26.7% after a 1.8% increase in the previous month.

This notable improvement is attributed to companies ramping up production in June to make up for accumulated delays in the second quarter, as well as the easing of some constraints that had been hindering supply chains and production—particularly in the aerospace and space industries.

Tesla’s sales in the United Kingdom fell significantly in July, signaling mounting pressures on the company within the European market—whether due to intensifying competition or shifts in consumer attitudes toward billionaire Elon Musk.

According to data from the UK Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders released on Tuesday, Tesla registrations plunged nearly 60% year-on-year in July, down to just 987 units compared to over 2,400 units in the same month last year.

This steep drop comes against a backdrop of a general slowdown in the UK automotive market, where total new car registrations fell by 5% in July to around 140,154 units.

While electric vehicle sales continued to grow, the pace was slower than expected, with a 9.1% increase during the month—reflecting a deceleration in consumer adoption of this segment.

At the same time, the association raised its forecast for the share of fully electric cars in total new car sales in the UK for 2025 to 23.8%, up from a previous estimate of 23.5%.

European stocks rise as bond yields fall and corporate earnings are monitored
European stock indices opened Tuesday’s trading with notable gains, supported by falling government bond yields in Germany, Italy, and the United Kingdom, while investors continue to assess quarterly earnings from several major companies.

The Stoxx Europe 600 index rose by 0.45% to reach 543 points, although losses in the utilities sector partially limited the benchmark’s overall gains.

Germany’s DAX index climbed 0.7% to 23,925 points, while France’s CAC 40 rose 0.4% to 7,662 points, and the UK’s FTSE 100 advanced 0.5% to 9,174 points.
