In its semi-annual monetary policy report submitted to Congress on Friday,
the Fed explained that it is still too early to observe how consumers and businesses are reacting to the increased tariffs.

It added that while the effects of tariffs are not yet clearly reflected in consumer price statistics,
price trend patterns across various product categories suggest that tariffs may have contributed to the recent rise in goods inflation.

The report highlighted that prices of appliances, household tools,
and some electric-powered consumer goods have increased,
while inflation in car prices specifically has not been particularly strong.

American automaker Tesla announced the signing of its first agreement to build a large-scale electricity storage facility in China,
a notable move despite ongoing trade tensions between Washington and Beijing.

In a post published on the Chinese platform Weibo on Friday,
the company stated that this will be its first energy storage project implemented at the public power grid level in China.
The goal is to support supply stability amid fluctuations in renewable energy production from wind and solar sources.

The project is valued at around 4 billion yuan (approximately $556 million) and was agreed upon in partnership with the local government of Shanghai,
in addition to the Chinese financial company China Kangfu International Leasing.

Tesla clarified that its Shanghai factory successfully produced over 100 units of “Megapack” batteries in the first quarter of this year.
These batteries are specifically designed to support public electricity grids,
with each unit capable of delivering one megawatt of power for up to four continuous hours.
