The company said in a blog post on Thursday that Sora, the new artificial intelligence tool,
can create a video clip up to a minute long,
with the video consisting of complex scenes with multiple characters,
specific types of motion, and accurate details of the subject and background.
The tool will initially be available to a limited number of bloggers and content creators,
according to Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, in a post on platform X.
The company will also allow a team of assigned experts to evaluate
the quality of Sora’s work before integrating it into the company’s products.

Meta Platforms, Google, and RunwayML had previously released
generative artificial intelligence tools to convert text into video.
While these tools accelerate creative activity,
they may raise concerns about the impact of artificial intelligence,
including its effect on artists’ income and the spread of misinformation,
especially during critical election periods like those in the United States.

Challenges facing artificial intelligence companies:

In its efforts to launch the tool, OpenAI stated that it is working
on building tools to help detect the creation date of the video clip by “Sora”.
However, artificial intelligence companies have previously faced difficulties
in creating successful artificial intelligence detection systems.
Last year, OpenAI shelved a classifier that had been intended to detect AI-generated writing,
citing its “low rate of accuracy”.”
